The History of the Midwest Wings

The Midwest Wings was founded in 1974 by Rob Withers.  Rob came from Wales and began our club with his Father, Stan.  The club colors of black and gold come from their own home town team in Wales.  The Midwest Wings from 1971-1989 was mostly a local club competing in youth recreational leagues and featured a high level men's team which had players from all over the world, several of whom had professional backgrounds and mostly a great love for the game. 

In 1989 the club, under the direction of Bill Dekker took the youth program to new levels, began to compete at higher levels, and traveled throughout the USA and Europe competing and expanding our own level of play, travel, and knowledge both on and off the field.
